Get Involved!
By getting involved in ELC's work, you can become a better advocate for your own children - and for others. Here are some possibilities...
- By exploring this web site, checking out our publications, and taking advantage of training opportunities, you can find answers to questions involving your child and other children whom you may know.
- If you belong to a community group or other organization that's working on making your schools better, this site and our publications may also be useful to you. In addition, we may be able to provide your group with hands-on assistance. (See School Improvement and No Child Left Behind for more information.)
- On the "Highlights" page for each of our major program areas (Children With Disabilities, English Language Learners, Fair Discipline, Foster Care & Juvenile Justice, Funding Schools Fairly, and School Improvement and No Child Left Behind), you'll find information on projects and campaigns in which we need your help. Writing a letter, making a call, or coming to a meeting or hearing can make a big difference -- in fact, it's amazing how much we can accomplish when we have partners.
- And if you're willing to do some work as a "Buddy" for a family whose child has disabilities, or if you're an attorney interested in representing children in education matters, we have some additional opportunities for you!
- For attorneys, there are two ways you can help: become a member of our referral network or volunteer for a pro bono case.
Thank you for your interest in working with us.
