Yvelisse B. Pelotte, Esq. is a staff attorney at the Education Law Center, focusing on school climate and school access issues. Before joining Education Law Center, Ms. Pelotte served in Community Legal Services’ employment unit as a Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellow and Staff Attorney. She has significant experience in direct client services, oral and written advocacy, as well as in organizing, planning, and conducting community outreach and education programming. She graduated cum laude from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and received her Juris Doctorate in 2014 from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law. Ms. Pelotte was president of the Black Law Students Association and, upon graduating, was recognized with an award for her outstanding leadership and contributions to Temple Law, was inducted into Temple Law’s Public Interest Honor Society, and was awarded the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Eve Biskind Klothen Pro Bono Distinction Award.
