Allegra joined ELC in 2018 as the Development & Communications Associate. She is a key member of the ELC team and supports all aspects of ELC’s fundraising and communications efforts. Allegra attended Bard College at Simon’s Rock for undergrad, where she held leadership roles in the campus community, including Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper and elected member of the Anti-Harassment/Anti-Discrimination Committee. After graduating summa cum laude, Allegra relocated to Baltimore, where she completed the Teach for America program and stayed in the classroom for three years before transitioning to a non-instructional role. While teaching, she pursued her Master’s Degree at Johns Hopkins University in Urban Education & Leadership, where she graduated with honors.
Following her years in the classroom, Allegra was the founding faculty member of a start up, dual enrollment early college public high school run as a partnership between Bard College and Baltimore City Public Schools. During her time at Bard, Allegra worked in several capacities, with her primary focus areas being communications, partnership building, and college access work for low income students. Allegra is a member of the Alumni Leadership Council of Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
Allegra attends Temple University Beasley School of Law in the evenings, where she is a 2L and class representative of the National Lawyers Guild.
